How do I take off my front wheel on my bike that has disc brakes??
I have a Saracen Instinct 2 that has disc brakes and I need to take the front wheel off but I do not know how to take the caliper thingy off the rotor safely without damaging the brake
I took a quick look at your bike specs online and I was a bike mechanic for 5 years. Generally speaking you don't need to remove the caliper. Just open the quick release on the axle and unscrew the nut on the end of the quick release several turns. This should let the wheel drop straight out of the bottom of the fork legs. If you're not sure how to REINSTALL the front wheel, have an experienced cyclist or bike mechanic help you out. If it isn't reinstalled properly you risk having the wheel come off while riding. The results of that are never good!
