Floor Tile
Tuesday, June 21st, 2011Can ammonia remove peeling and flaking gloss sealer from my porcelain floor tile?
We recently replaced our floor tile and I sealed it with a gloss sealer which is peeling off in random places. I have noticed that it is mostly where water gets on the floor and stays for a period of time and makes the sealer flake up. Is there any home remedy that I can use to just remove it? Someone suggested ammonia.
In order to fully remove the sealer that is pealing off you will need to "strip" you floor by using some type of floor finish remover on your entire floor. The specific product is going to depend on what type of tile your floor is such as ceramic, vinyl etc..After the stripping process is completed you will then need to reapply a better sealer/wax to you floor. HTH!
