Wednesday, May 25th, 2011How can you cut the strips of copper to PEX tubing so you can fix something?
I crimping tool pex to replace the copper strips. the only way I know how to remove the old tape is cut with a hacksaw or grinder. is there another solution
Since youve got the crimping tool .. and I suppose the bands ... you find it faster to just pull the seal, and replaced. You're most likely to work closely, so I would not advise using a grinder ... if you send a spark or Hot Chip in the wrong place, you can call the fire department. This leaves you with a hacksaw ... If I had to do the repair, I would just pull gasket, and replace ... my time is worth more than fitting. Once I got out from under the house ... then I could fix it in a vise and cut with a saw metals or reciprocating saw, easily, and save room for future use. Tip - do not forget the most difficult to achieve crimp first, heheh. Have fun
